Customer “Service”?

You can tell how the Web has changed. You expect certain things that you wouldn’t in the past. I am in the market for a new cell phone, and while I am reluctantly staying with Verizon Wireless, their site is really annoying. I expected an online sales chat; you’d think a company such as Verizon would have such a thing. I have a few simple questions that could easily be answered in a chat session, but instead I had to send a request through their online form.

I sent a request on Tuesday; it’s now Thursday. They replied this morning, apologizing for the delay. However, there was no actual response to my question!

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website. I apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry.

We appreciate your business and thank you for using Verizon Wireless products and services. Should you have additional questions or concerns, please reply to this e-mail.

Thanks for nothing, I. Johnson, if that is your real name!

I will say that Verizon’s site has the best phone search compared to T-Mobile and AT&T, but that’s really not saying much.
